11.29 Massive 8 Day Pocket Watch 93mm diameter. 540g. Open Face. Stem Wound / Pin Set. Circa 1910

The watch has been cleaned and serviced and is in good working order but as with all 8 day pocket watches it is better to keep winding, rather than to let the watch run its full 8 days as after a couple of days the time keeping can become erratic This watch is MUCH bigger than a normal 8 day. I have taken a photograph of three watches. The first is a 50mm (16 size) American watch, next to a “normal” Goliath / 8 day pocket watch. This Goliath measures 65mm in diameter. The one I am listing here measures a whopping 93mm and weighs 540g in total. The watch is Swiss and was made circa 1910. It was retailed in Manchester, UK Movement – the gilt ¾ plate lever movement has an 8 day mainspring and is in 95% mint condition – very clean

Case – the movement comes in a massive metal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. If you look at the photos of the movement in the case, you can see the wide gauge of the case, which measures 18mm wide around the movement. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 75% mint condition – the back has a lot of fine scratches giving it a dull look but this could be professionally polished up.

Dial – the white enamel dial has big bold numbers and is signed “Finnigans Ltd, Lansgate, Manchester, 8 days” and is in 85% mint condition – there are a few small hairlines in the centre of the dial.
