13.110 Rare CHINESE Market Wooden Pocket Watch Stand. Circa 1870

This is a wooden pocket watch stand made for the Chinese market. The casket stand is decorated with the most intricate pierced and carved detailing of figures and pagodas in different layers with bridges and path ways behind them, interspersed with leaves and trees. These figures surround the casket and aperture for the watch. The casket has a flared roof decorated with carved roses and leaves. The rectangular base is stepped with carved leaves. The casket has a hinged back which reveals a velvet lined watch holder and support. The stand measures 120mm wide x 50mm deep x 160mm high. The stand is in 95% mint condition
