13.113 Rare Porcelain Pocket Watch Stand of Metz With Franco Prussian War Soldiers. Circa 1870

This porcelain watch stand has an oval base with a plaque on the front signed “Metz”. In the foreground are two soldiers from the Frano Prussian War, one on horse back wielding a sabre and the other infantry, aiming a rifle. Both figures are superbly decorated and detailed even down to the piping on the Prussian uniform and the back pack on the French soldier. Behind is a white watch support, stand and aperture with gilded detailing. The stand measures 100mm x 70mm x 140mm. The stand is in 95% mint condition
