13.71 Massive Wooden and GLASS DOME Pocket Watch Stand. Circa 1870

This is a classic Victorian pocket watch stand. The stand is much larger than usual and has a round base which measures 145mm and the stand is 165mm high. The round base has three ball feet. The base has a gilt metal bezel frame which holds an inner wooden bezel. This is attached to the glass dome by way of a hinge. The inner area of the stand is covered with dark blue velvet. In the centre is a wooden pillar which supports a round disc with a metal circular frame. This supports the back of the watch. On the top of this is a hook, from which hangs the watch. The stand will take most fusee pocket watches from 1850-1890. The stand is in 95% mint condition some signs of wear but overall in superb condition.
