13.84 French Gilt Metal And Glass Pocket Watch Casket Stand. Circa 1830


This is a French gilt metal and glass pocket watch casket stand. The stand sits on 4 strut feet and is made up of three pieces of thick bevelled glass. The front slopes on the diagonal and the two sides are wedge shaped in accordance with the direction of the front. They are all held in place within a gilt frame work with claw settings. The back is just gilt metal. The front hinges open and the inside is lined with blue padded silk and has a gilt hook from which to hang the watch. It is best suited to ladies sized watches or small verges. The stand is in 70% mint condition the silk is worn in places plus the gilding is little dull and marked on the back, reflected in the low price
