3.4 Unusual Compass Dial Pocket Watch. Open Face. 54mm. Stem Wound / Stem Set. Circa 1900


Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and has 15 Jewels. The movement is in 100% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a metal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The inner cover is signed; “Montre Boussole Du Capitaine Vincent En France et L’Etranger. Brevete, Importe De Suisse”. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – a patched areas of scratches on the back

Dial – the white enamel dial has old luminous numbers from 1-12 and a pair of old luminous hands. The dial is then marked with a full set of compass readings from N to NNE, NE etc to S and back again. Around the dial is a raised white metal chapter ring with numbers 0-360. Set into the bezel is a lock which releases the large bi metallic compass arrow. The dial is in 90% mint condition – some light hairlines. The watch has a mineral glass.
