Movement – the gilt ¾ plate going barrel movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance with gold timing screws. The movement has a lever on the side of the case which can stop and start the balance and the centre seconds hand on the dial enabling a physician to record a short measure of time and calculate a pulse and blood pressure. The movement is signed “John Bennett, 65 and 64 Cheapside, London” # 36725 and is in 100% mint condition.

Case – the movement comes in a large silver Half hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open when you press the winder in. The inner cover is decorated with an elaborate engraving of the John Bennett logo and the British coat of arms. The front cover is decorated with dark blue enamel numbers on the front cover. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 95% mint condition – a tiny mark on the edge near the 8. The watch has a mineral glass over the dial and one in the front cover. The watch comes in a red leather box lined with red velvet and cream silk signed “Sir John Bennett”.
